「キンドル」を日本で発売（Released in Japan the "Kindle"）

インターネット通販で世界最大手の米アマゾン・ドット・コムは４月にも電子書籍端末「キンドル」を日本で発売する。ＮＴＴドコモから回線を調達し、携帯回線でネット上の電子書籍を入手できるようにする。価格を１万数千円に抑え、電子書籍サービスの顧客獲得につなげる。
　ドコモ回線のほか、一般の無線ＬＡＮも選べる。ドコモ回線の使用料は電子書籍の購入代金に含まれ消費者に通信料金はかからない。主力端末はアマゾンが昨年11月に米国で発売した「キンドルタッチ」になるもようで、アマゾンのネット通販サイトで販売。国内で普及している携帯回線が使える電子書籍端末より価格を安くする方針。
　キンドルで好きな本をアマゾンのサイトからダウンロード、クレジットカードなどで決済する。米国では書籍代を紙の本より２、３割安く設定している。
　アマゾンは角川グループホールディングスなど出版各社とコンテンツ供給の契約交渉を進めており、一部の出版社とは大筋で合意。４月には講談社など複数の出版社が電子書籍の共同管理会社「出版デジタル機構（仮称）」を設立する。アマゾンはコンテンツ確保へ同社と一括交渉する。
　日本どこでも、多くのコンテンツから早く・安く・気軽に書籍が取り込めるようになればいいでしょうね。
　現在電子書籍業界がどんなふうに推移しているのか詳しく把握していませんが、アマゾンの進出がよい意味で日本の市場に現れてくるといいですね。
