認証型コンセント（Authentication type outlet）

ソニーは14日、家電製品や利用者ごとに電力の使用量を管理できるコンセントの新技術を開発したと発表した。駅の改札口などで使われる非接触ＩＣ技術「フェリカ」を応用。プラグ側にＩＣチップを埋め込み、データを受発信できるコンセントの新機能を通じて管理する仕組み。どんな機器がどのくらい電力を使っているのかを確認したり制御したりできる。
　開発したのは「認証型コンセント」。プラグとコンセント間の情報を無線でやり取りするタイプと、電力線経由でやり取りするタイプを開発した。各機器とコンセント間でやり取りする情報はネットワークを介してサーバーで集中管理できる。
　各端末の使用状況を一覧できるサービスや、電力需給が逼迫した際に医療機器や冷蔵庫などに優先的に給電するシステムなどをつくることができる。また利用者ごとに使用状況を把握できるので外出先で電気自動車を充電しても、自動車の持ち主が電気代を支払う課金システムなどにも応用できるという。
　ソニーは今後、電力や電機・住宅大手など幅広い企業に協力を呼びかけて新技術の普及を目指す。実用化の時期や売り上げ規模などは「公表しない」（ソニー）としている。
　様々な場面で応用ができそうな気がしますね。いつ頃実用化されるのかは明確にしてほしい気もしますがね。
