千年の祈り（Prayer of a thousand years）

歌手のさだまさしさんが、今春、奈良県十津川村の４中学が統合して開校する村立十津川中の校歌として作詞作曲した「千年の祈り」が完成した。
　歌詞には台風１２号被害からの復興を進める村への思いもあふれており、さださんは「村の人たちにも口ずさんでもらいたい」と望んでいる。
　村の観光大使を務めるさださんに一昨年、村が依頼した。ゆったりとした曲で、冒頭、「美しき空　美しき水　美しき山」と広い村の雄大な自然をうたい、村内を通る世界遺産・紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道は「天空の道」と紹介。３番では、新しい学校の生徒たちが「千年の未来を創る」としている。
さださんは「自然を守り、心を合わせ、心を重ね、十津川の自然を育てていくことを祈りながら書きました。古里を振り返ったとき、輝いている歌で、また、ずっと十津川で過ごす人の宝物であってほしい」とコメント。村立小原中２年の女子生徒さんは「みんなが一つになれるよう、大切に歌います」と話していた。どんな曲なのか、ぜひ聞いてみたいですね。校歌というよりは村歌になって、多くの方々に歌い継がれていくといいですね。
