大学改革試案（Tentative university reform）

公益財団法人「世界平和研究所」（会長・中曽根元首相）は９日、入学定員の大幅削減や英語での授業推進などを柱とする「大学改革試案」を発表した。
　試案は「日本復活の鍵は高等教育の再生が握っている」とし、世界に通用する質の高い高等教育の実現を目指し、大学の抜本改革を提言。短期大学を含めて１０００校を超える日本の大学は淘汰(とうた)が必要とし、併せて入学定員の削減も求めた。
　「世界標準の大学教育」の実施に向け〈１〉英語での授業や討論〈２〉９月入学〈３〉卒業単位の厳格認定を掲げた。学生が長期間、就職活動に専念せざるを得ないような状況も改めるべきだとした。また、大学教員のレベルアップも不可欠とし、教員資格に任期を設けることや、学生や第三者に教員の指導内容を評価させる制度の導入が必要だとした。
　国家として、どんな人材を育成していくのか明確にして、それに基づいて教育を見なおしていく必要があるでしょうね。特に大学のあり方や選抜方法などを大きく変える必要があるでしょうね。
