コツコツ英語のコツ（English tips diligently）

名古屋学院大（名古屋市熱田区）は、社会に出てから、もう一度英語を学び直したい社会人を対象に、無償の英語学習サイト「コツコツ英語のコツ」（http://english.ngu.ac.jp/moo/）を設けた。同大は、「楽しみながら、英語を聴く力と話す力を伸ばしてほしい」と利用を呼びかけている。

　制作したのは外国語学部英米語学科の今仁教 授（理論言語学）を中心とする研究グループ。今仁教授が社会人に英語を講義した際、「小中高で学んだものの身に着かずに、もう一度真剣に取り組んでみたい と考えている社会人が意外に多い」と感じたのがきっかけ。忙しい社会生活の中で、一人で時間を作って効果的に学ぶには、ウェブサイトが最適と判断。ブログ のように定期的に更新することにした。
　目玉企画は、動物の鳴き声を英語で楽しみながら学ぶ「動物はこう鳴くのだ～」。「語学学習のコツは様々な人が発音しているのを実際に聴くこと」として、１回目は、留学生や教員の計１５人にニワトリの声を発音してもらい、動画に収めた。
　英語圏でも人によって様々な「コケコッコー」があることを確認できるほか、韓国語や中国語などのニワトリの鳴き声も「おまけ」として楽しめる。
　日本人が混同しやすい発音の違いを学ぶ「発音クリニック」では、英語を母語とする留学生が「ｔｈｅ」と「ｚａ」を発声する動画２種類を用意。唇や舌の動きをじっくり観察し、何度でも再生を繰り返しながら、違いを学べるように工夫されている。
　英語を母語としない北米の大学留学希望者の英語能力テスト「ＴＯＥＦＬ」や、ビジネス界で英語力の指標とされるテスト「ＴＯＥＩＣ」の問題研究の専門家が得点アップ術を伝授するコーナー、アメリカ人教員の日米の文化比較コラムも収めた。
　今仁教授は、「楽しみながら英語を学べる息の長いサイトにしたい」と意気込んでいる。学び直したいと思いながら実行できていない私にとってもありがたいサイトですね。あなたもぜひ、チャレンジしてみてはいかがでしょう。
