サンライズ出雲（Sunrise Izumo）

新幹線網や空路の充実を背景に夜行列車の廃止が相次ぐ中、多くの乗客でにぎわう異色の寝台特急がある。
　東京と島根県出雲市を結ぶ「サンライズ出雲」。個室中心の設備や、「パワースポット」ブームも追い風に、縁結びの神様として知られる出雲大社を目指す女性らの人気を集めている。
　「夜行列車はミステリアスでワクワクする」。友人と２人で出雲大社などを巡るという横浜市の会社員女性は、「サンライズ出雲」の個室でおしゃべりに夢中だった。東京から出雲市までは約１２時間の長旅だ。
　１月下旬の週末。下り列車はほぼ満席で、女性客の姿が目立つ。カーテンで仕切られた２段ベッドが並ぶ従来の夜行列車のイメージとは異なり、１両を除きすべての車両で個室が並んでいるのが特徴で、部屋には鍵もかかる。夜行列車はめっきり少なくなりましたから貴重な列車ですね。ぜひ、ワクワクしながら出雲に行ってみたいですね。
