東京大は２０日、学部の入学時期を春から秋に全面移行することを求めた学内の懇談会の中間報告を正式に公表した。浜田純一学長は記者会見で、４月をめどに京都大など１２大学で秋入学を検討する協議会を作り、さらに大学側と経団連など経済界との間でも協議会を設置することを表明。複数の大学での移行を目指す考えを示した。協議会では、入学や卒業の前後に生じる隙間（すきま）の期間「ギャップターム」（ＧＴ）の過ごし方や企業の新卒採用時期の弾力化について議論する。
　浜田学長は秋入学の実現まで５年前後をめどとし、このうち２年程度で条件整備について他大学や経済界と議論し、残りの３年を周知と調整の期間に充てるとした。また「取り組むべき課題は山のようにあるが、ひるむことなく、できるだけ早く実現していきたい」と述べた。
　浜田学長は昨年１２月から「秋入学の実現」について、京都大など旧６帝大に加え、筑波大、東京工業大、一橋大、早稲田大、慶応大の計１１校に協議を呼びかけ、会見でも「東大単独ではなく必ず他の大学とやる」と強い意欲を見せた。慶大とは既にＧＴの活用方法について意見交換に入ったという。
　大学側と経済界との協議会は、経団連や日本商工会議所など２０程度の経済団体に参加を求めるという。個別に代表的な企業の人事担当者と議論することも想定している。いずれの協議会でも、ＧＴで海外学習やボランティアなど体験活動を推進する仕組み作り、企業の採用時期や方法の見直しが課題になる。ＧＴの過ごし方の試行も実施するという。
　また、東大は入試についても、国際化などの課題に対応できるよう見直しを進めている。浜田学長は、入学時期と入試のあり方の見直しを同調させるのが理想との考えも示した。近い将来、秋入学が当たり前になるのかもしれませんね。
