「餃子の王将」で知られる王将フードサービスは、換気扇から吹き出す強烈な風や熱など中華料理店の特徴を生かした「発電店舗」を今年から展開する。
　節電効果は未知数だが、電力不足をアイデアで乗り切り、経費削減も狙う一石二鳥の取り組みにしたい考えだ。
　油料理用の鍋やギョーザを焼く鉄板など高熱を発する調理具が多いことから、排気用のフードに熱を電気に変えるパネルを張り付ける。換気扇の吹き出し口や敷地内に小型の風力発電機を置くことも検討する。井戸水を使う約１０店には、貯水タンク内に小型発電機を取り付け、タンク上部から落ちる大量の水で発電機に付いた羽根を回す。
　いずれも蓄電池に電気をためておき、必要に応じて使うことを想定している。
　王将はテコの原理を応用し、客がドアの前の踏み台に乗ると重みでドアが開閉する「節電ドア」を全国４店に設置している。節電ドアの上部にも小型の発電機を取り付けて開閉時に発電する。この電力は、ドアを通った時にメロディーを流すなど話題作りに生かす。
様々なアイデアで節電そして経費の節約をしてお客さんに還元してほしい気もしますね。
