水産物や野菜などを扱う全国の主な卸売市場で５日早朝、今年初の取引となる「初競り」が行われた。東京・築地の中央卸売市場では、１本269キロの青森県大間産クロマグロが5649万円（１キロ当たり21万円）で競り落とされた。

同市場によると、記録のある1999年以降では、2011年の3249万円（同９万５千円、北海道戸井産）を大幅に上回る過去最高値となった。
落札したのはすしチェーン「すしざんまい」運営の喜代村（東京）。近年は香港のすしチェーンによる落札が目立っていたため、喜代村の木村社長は「海外に持っていかれるより、国内で良いマグロを食べてほしい。東日本大震災や経済低迷があるが、日本みんなで頑張ろうと景気づけをしたい」と話した。にぎりずしとして、１個134～418円の通常価格で提供するという。
マグロ漁で有名な大間漁業協同組合（青森県大間町）では年末に取れたマグロを初競りに出していたが、鮮度を高めるため、今回は年明けに漁獲したマグロを出荷。前年に戸井産に奪われた最高値を奪還した。ご祝儀相場とはいえ破格の値段ですね。多くの方々の口に入って良い景気づけになるといいですね。
