研究の公募(Research Competition)

宇宙航空研究開発機構は２４日、探査機「はやぶさ」が小惑星イトカワから持ち帰った岩石の粒子を世界の研究者に提供する研究の公募を開始した。
　大きさ０・０１～０・１ミリほどの粒子１００～１５０個を提供する予定で、世界の英知を集め、貴重な粒子の詳細な年代などを研究してもらう。
　宇宙機構は、専門家１０人で構成する評価委員会を設置し、世界中から募った研究提案を選定する。締め切りは３月７日。粒子は、１年後に回収する。宇宙機構は、同様の国際公募を２０１４年まで年１回ずつ実施する予定。
　はやぶさが持ち帰った粒子については、すでに基本的な分析が終了。その結果、イトカワは太陽系の誕生から６００万年以上たってから誕生しており、以前は直径約２０キロの小惑星の一部だったことなどが分かった。研究の公募を通じて、もっと多くの事実が解明されていくといいですね。

24th Aerospace Research and Development Organization, the spacecraft "HAYABUSA" launched a public offering of research scientists around the world to provide particles of rock brought back from the asteroid Itokawa.

Plans to provide about one 100-150 from 0.01 to 0.1 mm particle size, collecting the wisdom of the world, get a detailed study of grain and precious age.

Space Agency has established an evaluation committee composed of 10 experts recruited from around the world to select a research proposal. The deadline is March 7. The particles are collected in one year. Space Agency is scheduled to be conducted once a year like 2014 International Competition.

Particles brought about the Hayabusa is already finished basic analysis. Consequently, Itokawa is born, wait at least 600 million years from the birth of the solar system, such as that found previously was part of the asteroid 20 kilometers in diameter. Research through a public offering, and I hope we have more facts revealed.
