国際電気通信連合（ＩＴＵ）は７日、インターネットの利用しやすさなど各国の情報通信技術の発達度を比較した２０１２年のランキングを発表した。
　１、２位は韓国、スウェーデンの順で前年と同じだった。３位から６位までは、アイスランドなど他の北欧諸国が占めた。日本は１２位で前年より四つランクを落とした。
　ランキングは世界１５７国・地域を対象にブロードバンド（大容量通信）の普及状況、パソコンやタブレット端末を持つ世帯数、インターネットを使える人口、携帯電話の契約数などを点数化して比較した。韓国はインターネットに常時接続できる世帯の割合が９７％（日本は８６％）に及ぶことなどが高評価につながった。日本の全体の点数は前年より上がったものの、伸び率が鈍く英国などに抜かれた。韓国のインターネットに常時接続できる世帯の割合が９７％は凄いですね。日本はインターネットと無縁の世帯が多いということでしょうかね。
