菅義偉官房長官は３日午前の会見で、東京電力福島第１原子力発電所のタンクから新たな汚染水が漏出し、その一部が海に流出した可能性があることについて、東電の対応を確認するとともに、汚染水問題解決に向けてしっかり対策を講じていきたいと語った。
菅官房長官は、汚染水問題の抜本的な改革は政府が責任をもって対応し、個々の問題は東電が対応するとしたうえで、今回のような漏れもあってはならないことだと指摘。「実際に漏れているのだから対応策が十分だったとは思わない」と語った。そのうえで「政府と東電が連携し、一切こういうことがないよう、これからもしっかり取り組んでいきたい。最善の努力をしていく」とした。
安倍晋三首相が国際オリンピック委員会（ＩＯＣ）総会などで汚染水問題はコントロールできていると発言したこととの関連については「全体としてはコントロールできていると思っている」と答えた。
確かにオリンピック委員の１人から「放射能汚染は大丈夫ですか？」という質問が安部首相に対して出されましたね。
　それに対し、安倍首相は「状況はいまも完全にコントロール下にある。健康被害はない。汚染は外に洩れていない。これは私が断言する」と言ってしまいました。
