同デバイスは米国と英国では予約受付が開始されており、米国での価格は279ドルとなっている。Chrome OS のプロダクトマネジメント担当 VP である Caesar Sengupta 氏は Google Chrome Blog で、HP Chromebook 11について次のように述べている。
「本日、HP は『HP Chromebook 11』を発表した。HP 内の我々の友人が設計し、完成させた Chromebook 11 は、利用者が Chromebook に期待する高速な動作、分かりやすさ、高いセキュリティを提供する」
HP Chromebook 11 のディスプレイサイズは 11.6 インチで、CPU は Exynos 5250 GAIA ARM、メモリは 2GB でストレージには 16GB の SSD が搭載される。バッテリー持続時間は最大6時間。
だが、この新しいマシンの最大の特徴は、そのカラ―バリエーションとデザインにある。ベースカラーはホワイトとブラックだが、キーボードのまわりにブルー、レッド、イエロー、グリーンのカラ―アクセントが付く。Sengupta 氏は次のように述べる。
