最新鋭戦闘機「Ｆ３５」（Most advanced fighter "F35"）

防衛省は１２日、航空自衛隊のＦ４戦闘機の後継となる次期主力戦闘機（ＦＸ）について、米英豪など９か国が共同開発中の最新鋭戦闘機「Ｆ３５」（開発主体＝米ロッキード・マーチン社）を選定する方針を固めた。

　国内防衛産業との関連でも、米政府は日本政府に、共同開発国以外では例外的に機体に関する機密情報を開示することを表明済みで、国内企業が関与することができるため、技術基盤の維持に資すると判断した。
しかし、ステルス戦闘機Ｆ３５に多数の亀裂が見つかったのを受け、米国防総省がＦ３５の開発調達計画を２年間遅らせる見通しとなった。Ｆ３５の運用開始は、当初の２０１７年から１９年以降にずれ込むことが確実となり、日本のＦＸ調達計画も抜本的な見直しが迫られそうだ。
　自国は自国で守るのが鉄則ですから、きな臭い極東情勢の中にあって空の守りをどうするのか厳しい判断を迫られそうですね。
