富士山に異変？！（Mt accident? !）

東日本大震災の発生以降、噴煙らしきものが上がっている、雪が消えたなどとウソともホントともつかない「異変」が伝えられる富士山で、今度は「地面から湯気が出ている」のが見つかった。
　「富士山の湯気」は、2012年2月10日に山梨県側3合目の道路付近で発生した。道路管理の関係者の、「地面から湯気のようなものが出ている」との通報に基づいて、気象庁火山課などが確認に出向いた。
　気象庁は、「たしかに湯気ではありましたが、温泉地のように湧き出しているように出ていたわけではありません。その日は外気がマイナス10度でしたので、そこに10度程度のかすかな水蒸気が出ていたのですから、ふだんよりも白く見えたと考えられます」と説明する。
　その日の日中も調べを続けたが、気温が上昇したこともあって湯気は見えなくなった。気象庁は「ただちに噴火に結びつくものではない」と話している。
　それにしても、富士山ではこうした湯気がよく発生するのだろうか？気象庁は次のように回答しています。
　「富士山には大小いくつもの空洞があって、そこから空気が湯気のようになって漏れ出てきたと考えられます。そのため、これまでも目には見えていなかったが（湯気が）出ていた可能性はないとはいえません。ただ、通報があって確認したのは、おそらく初めてに近いことかと思います」

気象庁はこのことを、2月29日に開かれた火山予知連絡会にも報告した。しかし、「全国の火山活動の評価」で、富士山は「噴火予報（噴火警戒レベル1　平常）」にあたり、特段火山活動に変化が認められないレベルにある。
　しかし、富士山では東日本大震災の発生直後の11年3月15日に山頂の南南西約5キロメートル、深さ15キロメートルを震源とする静岡県東部地震（暫定値マグニチュード6.4、最大震度6強）が発生し、「それ以降、その震源から山頂直下付近にかけて地震活動が活発な状況となり、その後地震活動は低下しつつも継続している」と、火山噴火予知連絡会が報告している。

　何が起きてもおかしくない状態ですから富士山の爆発という想定も考えておかなければならないのかもしれませんが、観測等の結果を見れば、それはなさそうですかね。でも分かりませんがね。
 　自然が脅威となって人類に牙を向けている現状を考えると人類全体が総反省して自然や自然を越える存在に敬意を示さなければならない時なのかもしれませんね。
