大学の国際化（Internationalization of universities）

文部科学省は12日までに、大学の国際化を後押しする「大学の国際化のためのネットワーク形成推進事業」に選ばれた13大学について、2010年度末の達成度の中間評価を公表した。同志社大が最高の「Ｓ」を獲得。東京大など10校がこれに次ぐ「Ａ」で、慶応大と上智大は「Ｂ」にとどまった。
　同事業は09～13年度の５年間が対象。評価は第三者委員会が行い、留学生の受け入れや海外有力大との連携、英語による授業だけで学位が取れるコースの設置などが計画通りに進んでいるかを審査した。
　同志社大は米国の有力大と連携し、留学生の受け入れ数を目標より35％増やした。慶応大は外国人教員数や留学生の派遣・受け入れ数が目標を下回り、上智大は学内の国際化推進体制の整備が当初計画より遅れた点などが課題とされた。
　13校全体ではおおむね計画通りに進んでいると評価した。10年度末の留学生の受け入れ数は13校で計２万６千人となり、目標を４千人上回った。
　「大学の国際化のためのネットワーク形成推進事業」は10年の政府の事業仕分けを受け、大学間や産業界との連携を強化する方向で内容の見直しが行われている。
世界が注目するように大学自体の実力をアップすれば国際化は自然に進むように思いますがね。
