東日本大震災から1年を前に9日、パリ中心部のノートルダム大聖堂で、犠牲者の追悼ミサと日本人の子供たちによる演奏会が行われた。
ミサは、日本在住経験のある同聖堂の神父が仏在住の日本人有志の呼びかけに応じて開いたもので、約2000人が参加。パトリック・ジャクワン主席司祭が「我々は日本の兄弟たちを励まし、安心させたいと願っている」などと呼びかけ、全員が黙とうをささげた。
続いて、世界的に活躍する指揮者の佐渡裕さんの指揮で、日本から訪仏した弦楽合奏団「スーパーキッズ・オーケストラ」の約50人が、「見上げてごらん夜の星を」などを演奏した。同合奏団は阪神大震災後、兵庫県を拠点に結成され、小学生から高校生までが参加。11日には、パリの国連教育・科学・文化機関(ユネスコ)本部でも演奏会を行う。
