　関係者によると、英国の会社が出版。タイトルは「Ｃｌｏｕｄｓ　ａｂｏｖｅ　ｔｈｅ　Ｈｉｌｌ」で、日露戦争の歴史小説を表す副題をつける。１２月に出版される第１巻は文庫版「坂の上の雲」（全８巻）の１～４巻をまとめたもので、２０１３年末に文庫版５～８巻にあたる第２巻を出版予定。同書の翻訳は、これまでに複数の翻訳家が試みたが、登場人物の多さや文化・制度の違いを外国語で表現することが難しかったことなどから書籍化は実現しなかったという。やっと英訳本が出されるといった感じですね。世界の多くの方に読んでほしい気はしますね。
