高校からの推薦入試、書類や面接だけで合否を判定するＡＯ入試など、いわゆる“無試験”で入学できるシステムも拡大。受験の選抜機能が失われ、平均以下のレベルにある学生を分厚い層として取り込む形で、進学率は上昇を続けているという。
