Apple共同創業者で会長のSteve Jobs氏の死去が、米国時間10月5日のAppleによる発表で明らかになった。56歳だった。
　コンピュータ業界、音楽・映像業界、電話業界など、さまざまな業界にイノベーションを起こしてきたApple。Apple I、Macintosh、NeXT、Newton、iMac、Mac book、iPod、iTunes、iPhone、iPad――パーソナルコンピュータ、ワークステーション、PDA、音楽プレーヤー、スマートフォン、 タブレット――。Jobs氏は、こうしたさまざまな革新をリードしてきたが、晩年は2004年8月のガン手術以降、肝臓移植、1年間に2度の休職、CEO 辞任など、健康と後継者問題が絶えず話題となってきた。早すぎる死ですね。多くの人々に新しい喜びの世界を提供したという意味でも多くの方々の記憶と歴史が記憶する方なのかも知れませんね。まだまだ、多くの喜びをイノベーションを通じて人類にもたらして欲しかったですね。
