正しい国語を使いましょう(Let's use the correct language)

 立命館大教授・加地伸行氏が、産経新聞に投稿されている記事に「正しい国語を使いましょう」は、国語ということを改めて考えさせられる内容です。国語をもっと教え込まないと日本はとんでもない国になってしまいそうですね。以下全文を掲載します。是非再考あれ！！

　もっとも、ｃｕｔであろうと、ｃａｔであろうと、現実ではそんなこと問題にもしないであろう。一般人にとっての英語とは、その程度のものである。

　けれども、ここは日本ではないのか。日本であるならば、まずはきちんとした日本語を使うのが筋であろう。さらには、日本人であるならば、正しい国語を使うべきである。
　日本語と国語とは違う。

　つまり、日本語とは、外国人向きの技術的なものである。当然、日本人だと日本語ペラペラ。
　けれども国語は違う。日本人でも国語のできない人はたくさんいる。国語とは、〈国〉家の歴史・文化・伝統を背景として発展してきた言〈語〉であり、略して国語と言う。だから、日本の歴史・文化・伝統の素養のない外国人に国語学習は無理なのである。例えば「もののあはれ」という国語を理解し感受できる外国人は絶無に近いことであろう。
　当然、その逆もある。われわれ日本人が英語を学んでも、せいぜい「ｃｕｔ専門」に直す程度であり、英〈国語〉の理解や感受は、まず無理なのである。
ところが、今年９月、テレビニュースがこう報道していた。東大の大学院が外国の制度に合わせて「秋入学」を行うようになったと。そして東大総長が式辞（告辞）を英語で行ったシーンが流れた。
　驚いた。ここは日本ではないか。日本に留学したい外国人は、当然にまずは日本語を学ぶべきである。
