国語をもっと勉強すべきだと感じますね。（I feel I should learn more Mother tongue）

国際化に英語は必須として、千葉県大多喜町は今月から二つの町立保育園で英語の授業を始めた。英語は、今春から小学校５、６年については必修化されたが、町では独自に小学１～４年生にも英語を教えており、これで保育園から小学校６年まで一貫して英語が学べることになった。
　１８日には、みつば保育園での授業が報道陣に公開された。米国人のアシュリー・コーエンさんの指導で、子供たちは元気に英語の単語を発音していた。
　授業は３～５歳の子供たちの各クラスで週１回３０分ほど。アシュリーさんは町にある三育学院短期大学の英語講師で、「あいさつや数字、名前などを英語で表現できるように指導したい」と意気込む。
　クラスではヘッド（頭）、肩（ショルダー）などの単語を発音したり、ピアノに合わせて歌ったりしている。みつば保育園の三浦園長は「本当に楽しく勉強している」と話す。英語力の向上にと、廊下の壁には数字や曜日、色の英語を書いた紙が貼ってある。
　町では教育環境の充実策として英語教育の充実に力を入れている。飯島町長は「日本人は英語が苦手だが、世界の共通語の英語に小さい頃から親しませ、自由に話せるようにしたい」と話している。
小学校での英語必修化が、どんな結果をもたらして行くのか、時間的経過を見つめていかなければ結論は出せないでしょうが受験英語がある限り難しい気もしますね。そして、もっと幼い時から英語教育が、どんな結果をもたらすのか注目されるところですが、日本語(国語)をもっと勉強すべきだと感じるのは私だけでしょうかね。
