アーカシュ（Akashu）

インド政府は同国での販売価格が１７５０ルピー（約２７００円）と「世界最低価格」のノートパソコンを開発し、５日、端末を公開した。大学などに納入、教育補助機器として普及を推進し、情報技術（ＩＴ）大国の底上げを狙う。
　公開されたパソコンは「アーカシュ（ヒンディー語で「空」の意味）」。インド政府やインド工科大ラジャスタン校が英国の「データウインド」社と共同開発した。タブレット型で画面のサイズは７インチ。
　インド政府は製造費用の一部を負担。１０万台を２２５０ルピーで受注したが、学生向けの販売価格は１７５０ルピーに抑える。一般向けの販売時期については未定。
経済圏は中国からインドに移りゆこうとしていますが、IT大国がゆっくりと動き出したといった感じでしょうかね。インドで生産されたIT機器に満たされる時がくるのかも知れませんね。
