芥川賞作家の円城塔さんの長編小説「Ｓｅｌｆ―Ｒｅｆｅｒｅｎｃｅ　ＥＮＧＩＮＥ」の英訳版が、米国の文学賞「フィリップ・Ｋ・ディック賞」の候補作に選ばれた。同作品の版元である早川書房が１４日、発表した。結果は４月１８日に発表される。フィリップ・Ｋ・ディック賞は、SF作家フィリップ・K・ディックが1982年に死去したことから、翌1983年に彼を記念して創設されたSFの文学賞である。フィラデルフィアSFソサエティ（en）が運営している。前年にアメリカでペーパーバックで刊行されたSF小説の中の最優秀作品を選ぶ賞である。２０１１年には故伊藤計劃さんの「ハーモニー」が次点に当たる特別賞を受けている。
　「Ｓｅｌｆ―」は単行本が０７年、文庫が１０年に出版され、英訳版は昨年刊行されていた。
　円城さんは札幌市出身。１２年に「道化師の蝶」で芥川賞を受賞した。受賞されるといいですね。
