ホンダは昨年暮れ、開発中の小型ジェット機「ホンダジェット」について、米航空機事業子会社が米国連邦航空局（ＦＡＡ）から型式検査承認を取得したと発表した。
　これにより、型式証明に向けた最終的な飛行試験が実施できるようになり、今後１年間は、ＦＡＡのパイロットが搭乗する。２０１５年の量産開始に向けた準備が整うことになる。
　ホンダは、０６年に操縦士を含めた６人乗りの小型ジェット機「ホンダジェット」の生産販売に乗り出すと発表し、同年から受注を開始。現在まで計１００機以上を受注している。
　当初、１０年中に１号機の引き渡しを計画していたが、ＦＡＡからの認可が下りず、計画が延期されていた。量産開始の２～３年後をめどに年８０～１００機の生産を目指すとしている。エンジンは、提携先の米ゼネラル・エレクトリック（ＧＥ）と共同開発する計画。様々な分野に手を伸ばすホンダといった感じでしょうかね。
