宇宙航空研究開発機構（ＪＡＸＡ(ジャクサ)）の奥村理事長は、１４日の記者会見で、当面は宇宙飛行士の新規の採用を見送る方針を明らかにした。
　国際宇宙ステーション（ＩＳＳ）の運用が決まっているのは２０２０年まで。宇宙滞在が未経験の飛行士が３人おり、奥村理事長は「ただちに新しい人（の採用）ということにはならない」と説明、この飛行士３人を宇宙に送ることを優先する考えを示した。
　日本は１６年以降、ＩＳＳ計画にどうかかわっていくか未定だ。奥村理事長は「飛行士（の採用）よりも、ＩＳＳ計画への対応を決めることが先決だ」と強調した。
　当面の処置としては妥当なところでしょうかね。しかし、宇宙飛行士に憧れを抱く多くの少年少女も夢を叶えてあげてほしいとも思いますね。
