風車を土台ごと海に浮かべる方式の洋上風力発電設備「ふくしま未来」が、福島県楢葉町沖に完成し、１１月に実証実験として陸上への送電を開始する。
　風車は沖合約２０キロにあり、三角柱の浮体を土台に、海面からの高さが１０６メートル、３枚の羽根（直径８０メートル）で回る。洋上では１年を通して強い風が見込まれ、最大出力は２０００キロ・ワット。５００～６００世帯の消費電力を賄えるという。１０月上旬、海底とつなぐチェーンや送電ケーブルなどの設置が完了。最終点検を終え次第、送電を開始するという。
　実験は、経済産業省が東京大学と丸紅、三井造船、清水建設など１０社に委託して行っている。将来は出力の大きい２基を増設し、計約１万世帯分の電力を供給する計画だ。
 　洋上に風力発電設備を設置するのは難しかったでしょうね。実証実験が良い結果を叩き出すことを期待します。
