札幌医科大は５日、進行した膵臓（すいぞう）がんの治療薬として開発したワクチン「サバイビン２Ｂ」の臨床試験を始めたと発表した。進行膵臓がんは致死率が高く、有効な治療法が確立されていない。同大は早ければ３年後の実用化を目指している。
　臨床試験は、同大の佐藤教授を中心とするグループが実施。昨年８月から膵臓がんや胃がんの患者ら計２０人を対象に安全性を確認し、今年１０月１６日から進行膵臓がん患者７１人を対象に本格的に始めた。
　サバイビン２Ｂは９個のアミノ酸で構成されるペプチドワクチン。佐藤教授らは、ワクチンを皮下注射すれば、がん細胞を攻撃するリンパ球が増え、活性化されて膵臓がんの治療に効果があるとみている。
　手術も難しいといわれますから有効な治療薬の開発が望まれるところです。3年後といわず早めに実用化出来るように研究を加速化してほしいですね。
