トヨタ自動車は26日、主力の小型ハイブリッド車（ＨＶ）「アクア」の燃費性能を一部改良し、ガソリン１リットルあたり37.0キロメートルに高めたと発表した。12月２日に発売する。エンジン部品やハイブリッド制御システムを改良。ホンダが９月に発売した新型「フィットＨＶ」の36.4キロメートルを上回って、燃費性能で再び世界最高水準を達成した。
　改良前のアクアの燃費は35.4キロメートルで、1.6キロメートル改善した。価格は従来より１万円高い170万～195万円。月間１万５千台の販売を目指す。
　走りの楽しさを求める顧客向けに足回りなどを調整した「Ｇ　ＳＰＯＲＴＳ（Ｇ's）」シリーズも加え、12月９日に発売する。価格は222万円で、月間販売目標は400台。
