脳内の動脈が狭くなり脳梗塞などの原因になる疾患を、「ステント」と呼ばれる小さな網状の筒を使い血管を広げて治療する手法が国内で初めて認められ、治験を主導した神戸市立医療センター中央市民病院の坂井医師が１９日、市の研究施設で成果を発表した。
　対象は頭蓋内動脈狭窄症。保険適用が認められる来春から、治験実績がある同病院や名古屋大病院で治療を受けられる。
　従来のバイパス手術や、太ももの血管からカテーテルを脳まで通し、狭くなった血管付近でバルーンを膨らませ広げる治療法より、再発を抑えることができる。
 網状の筒の方が効果が持続しやすいように感じますね。多くの患者が脳梗塞の危険から救われるといいですね。
