米航空宇宙局（ＮＡＳＡ）は、太陽に接近した際に崩壊、蒸発したとみられていたアイソン彗星の一部が残っているかもしれないと発表。太陽から離れていく様子を人工衛星が捉えた画像を公開した。
　周囲に残ったちりなのか、彗星の核の一部なのかは分からないという。
　太陽系の遠方からやってきたアイソン彗星は２９日午前４時ごろ、太陽に接近。ＮＡＳＡは観測できなくなったため、崩壊したとみられるとしていた。
　河北京都産業大教授（天文学）は「画像からは、彗星がどのぐらい細かく壊れたかは分からない。核が残っていれば引き続きガスやちりが出るので観測できるだろう。ただ当初の予測のような長い尾を伸ばしたイメージからは遠い。肉眼で見るのは難しく、写真は撮り慣れている人なら撮影できるかもしれない」と話している。
　核が残っていてほしいですね。肉眼では難しいとのことですが、何とか肉眼で捉えることのできる大きさであって欲しいですね。
