理化学研究所理論科学連携研究推進グループと東京大学国際高等研究所 カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構との間で、研究連携協定を締結することになり、平成25年12月4日、理化学研究所和光キャンパスにて調印式が行われた。
理研では、物理・化学・生物などの分野を越えた理論科学の連携を図るため、平成25年6月1日、理論科学連携研究推進グループが発足しました。一方、東京大学国際高等研究所カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構は、数学・理論物理学・実験物理学・天文学の融合を目指すべく、文部科学省世界トップレベル研究拠点プログラムの一環として、平成19年10月に東京大学に発足した数物連携宇宙研究機構から今に至っています。
分野横断的研究によって、基礎科学の新しい芽や新たな突破口を開くことを目的とする点で共通している。そして、両者が連携・協力関係を構築することは理論科学の発展に大きく寄与できるということから、本日、協定を調印する運びとなったようです。
両者の研究連携協定を通じて理論科学が大きく発展することを期待します。カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構の機構長の村上さんには様々な著書があります。書名等を見て研究連携が目指すところが分かるかもしれませんよ。
