Kyushu Institute of Technology founds a Malaysian school（九州工業大がマレーシア校を開校）

Kyushu Institute of Technology clarified a plan to found Malaysia school to the Malaysian putora size which concluded a collaborative investigation agreement of the biomass (creature resources) on 8th before 13. 九州工業大は８日、バイオマス（生物資源）の共同研究協定を締結しているマレーシアのマレーシアプトラ大に１３年度内にマレーシア校を開校する計画を明らかにした。マレーシアの豊富な資源を活用して最先端のバイオマス研究を進めるのが狙い。九工大によると、日本の国立大学法人が海外で学位取得できるキャンパスを設置するのは初めてという。
　両大は今年３月末、プトラ大の構内にマレーシア校を開設することで基本合意した。キャンパスは、プトラ大の敷地約２ヘクタールに延べ面積約８００平方メートルの校舎を建設し、その一部をあてる。
　九工大によると、マレーシア校は、学部や専攻に関係なく、全学生の利用が可能で、プトラ大の学生も同校で受講すれば単位を取れる。初年度は博士課程のみで、九工大の大学院生約１０人が同校に移り、教職員も派遣する方針。
　プトラ大は首都クアラルンプールに隣接のセランゴール州にあり、両大の交流は９４年から始まった。０４年にはサテライトオフィスを設け、ヤシ油の搾りかすや廃液からメタンガスを製造する実証工場の建設など共同研究を進めてきた。積極的に海外に出ていくことも必要なのかもしれませんね。豊富な資源を背景にして更なる研究が進むことと同時にマレーシアに貢献することも考えて欲しい気もしますね。
