日中の相互意識を探る第８回日中共同世論調査（言論ＮＰＯと中国日報社が実施）の結果が２０日、公表された。
日本人で中国に「良くない印象を持つ」（「どちらかと言えば良くない」を含む）と答えた人は８４％（昨年７８％）と、２００５年の調査開始以来最悪だった。中国側は６５％（同６６％）とほぼ横ばいで、日本の対中観の悪化が際立った。
調査は４月から５月にかけて行われ、日本は全国の１８歳以上１０００人、中国は北京、上海、成都、瀋陽、西安の５都市の１８歳以上１６２７人から回答を得た。
相手国に良くない印象を持つ理由（複数回答）では、日本側は「資源やエネルギーの確保で自己中心的に見える」が５４％と最も多く、中国側は「過去に日本と戦争をしたことがある」が７９％で最多だった。一方、印象の悪さとは裏腹に、日中関係が「重要」と答えた人は、日本側が８０％、中国側も７８％にのぼった。
