Three leading candidates for the Nobel Prize will be announced.

The 25th, the U.S. information company Thomson Reuters has announced the 28 people leading candidate for the Nobel Prize that was expected on the basis of such study of citations of papers. 米情報会社トムソン・ロイターは２５日、論文の引用回数の調査などに基づいて予想したノーベル賞の有力候補者２８人を発表した。日本人では医学生理学賞に大隅良典・東京工業大特任教授と水島昇・東京大教授を、物理学賞に細野秀雄・東京工業大教授の計３人を選んだ。
　大隅、水島両氏は、基礎生物学研究所（愛知県岡崎市）での研究を通じて、細胞の内部で異常なタンパク質などのごみを分解する「オートファジー（自食作用）」と呼ばれる現象の仕組みを解明した。
　細野氏は、鉄を主な成分とする化合物が、冷却すると電気抵抗がゼロになる超電導になることを発見。鉄は超電導になりにくいという常識を覆した。
　今年のノーベル賞は１０月７日の医学生理学賞を皮切りに発表される。昨年は受賞者がいなかったように記憶していますが今年はどうなるんでしょうかね。村上春樹さんの文学賞受賞はどうなんでしょうかね。期待しながら発表を待ちましょう。
