　グループはインターネット調査会社に登録した人から無作為に選んだ９万人に調査票を送り、仕事を持つ１万３１６４人から回答を得た。幼少期に周りの大人からよく言われたことを八つの選択肢から選んでもらい、年収を比較した。
　その結果、「うそをついてはいけない」としつけられた人の年収は、平均約４４８万円で最も高く、しつけられた覚えがない人（同約３９８万円）を５０万円上回った。「他人に親切にする」「ルールを守る」「勉強をする」も、しつけを受けた場合の方が、年収が約２９万～１５万円高かった。
　さらに、これら四つのしつけを全て受けた人の平均年収は約４７９万円で、一つも受けていない人（約３９３万円）と比べ、約８６万円高かった。
　一方、「あいさつをする」や、「ありがとうと言う」といったしつけは、年収の高さとはほとんど関係なかった。
　自分に対しても人に対しても「嘘をつかない」ことがもっと重要なんでしょうかね。そういえば会津藩の掟の中にも出てきますね。
