Set up a "fund creation light industry"（「光産業創成基金」を設置）

浜松ホトニクスは光産業創成大学院大学（浜松市）発のベンチャー企業を対象にした「光産業創成基金」を設置した。まず１億円を拠出し、各社の研究開発費や運転資金を援助する。支援制度を充実させることで光関連の新市場の早期開拓を促す。大学院大学に有能な人材を呼び込む狙いもある。
大学院大学は同社が中心になって2005年に開校した。最先端の光技術の事業化を目的とし、学生の多くがベンチャー企業を設立しているが、製品開発など時間がかかるケースが多い。
これまでは個別に支援してきたが、基金を設けて制度化することで、ベンチャー各社の事業状況に合わせて機動的に支援できるようにする。
ベンチャーが支援を必要とする場合には、各社の申請内容を同社が厳正に審査し、出資として資金提供する。昼馬社長は「活力あるベンチャー企業を育てることが産業の活性化につながる。新しいことにチャレンジする人材が大学院大学に集まるきっかけになればいい」と話している。
　「神の粒子」の発見などの計測部分を支える浜松ホトニクス、次世代に向けての準備も怠りないといった感じですね。ますます、光産業で世界をリードしていきそうですね。
