大阪市立大工学部４年の山下さんが、工業高校生向けの教科書「電気基礎」を作成した。
　１９４７年に現行の教科書検定が始まって以来、大学生が個人で教科書を発行するのは初という。４月から北海道の工業高校で使われる予定だ。
　山下さんは、自分が工業高で使った電気の教科書が分かりにくいと感じ、「生徒の視点で、分かる教科書を作ってみよう」と思い立った。大学２年だった２０１０年春に執筆を開始。まず思った通りに書き、それを高校時代のノートや他の教科書と照らし合わせた。教科書に多い「～だ、である調」でなく、「です、ます調」で親しみやすい表現を心がけたという。
　既存の教科書は６００ページ程度だが、１５３ページに内容を絞り込み、同年秋に文部科学省の教科書検定に申請。翌１１年９月、検定意見で「３５日内に１０１か所の修正」を求められたが、再提出で無事に合格した。自費で８００冊を印刷し、全国の教育委員会や工業高校へ配布したところ、北海道の旭川工業高に採択された。生徒の視線で執筆された教科書、多くの工業高校で採択されるといいですね。
