　ベネディクト１６世はドイツのバイエルン州出身。２００５年４月、前法王ヨハネ・パウロ２世の後を継いで法王に就いた。神学教授出身で、バチカン教理省長官、首席枢機卿などを歴任した。
　長い歴史を持つローマカトリックであることを今更ながら感じますね。中世暗黒時代、形骸化したローマカトリックを打破するために心と体からの挑戦が始まりました。ルネッサンスと宗教改革ですね。多くの信者を抱えるローマカトリックが、今後新しい法王の元、どのように変わっていくのかが問われるでしょうが変わることは難しいでしょうね。
