　賞を創設したのは、グーグルの創業者セルゲイ・ブリン氏、フェイスブックの創業者マーク・ザッカーバーグ氏ら。財団の会長にはコンピューター大手アップルのアーサー・レビンソン会長が就任した。山中氏のほか、がん遺伝子の研究で知られる米マサチューセッツ工科大のロバート・ワインバーグ教授らが選ばれた。今後ノーベル賞より権威にある賞になっていくかもしれませんね。
