大阪大病院は３０日、重い心不全患者の心臓に薬剤シートを貼り、血管や心筋細胞の再生を促す臨床試験（治験）を６月から始めると発表した。
　約２０年前に開発されながら発売に至らなかった抗血栓薬が心不全治療に有効と分かり、投与法を工夫して治験につなげた。６年後の薬事承認を目指す。
　国内の重症心不全患者は約１０万人と推定される。治験対象は、心筋梗塞などが原因で心筋の一部が機能しなくなる「虚血性心筋症」の患者２４人。
　薬剤は、小野薬品工業（大阪市）が飲み薬として１９９３年に開発したが、下痢などの副作用が強いことが分かり、発売されなかった。
　発表によると、阪大チームは４年前、この薬に心不全の治療効果があることを発見。微小な球状に加工してゼラチンシートにしみ込ませ、心臓に直接貼り付けることで副作用を減らす方法を開発した。虚血性心筋症を発症させたミニブタでの実験で、血流量が増えるなど心機能の回復を確かめた。心臓の細胞に血管などの再生を促す物質を作らせているとみられる。良好な臨床結果が出ることを期待します。それによって重い心不全患者さんの朗報になるといいですね。
