実験では、マウス由来のiPS細胞を用いて、直径1センチほどの心筋細胞培養シートをラット5匹に移植。約1カ月後に強力な電磁波を照射して心筋収縮タンパク質分子の運動を調べたところ、移植したiPS細胞由来の心筋細胞が心臓と同化して伸縮と拡張を繰り返していることが確認できたという。更なる研究を進めて人間への臨床が出来る段階まで早期に持っていけるようになることを期待したいですね。
