Waseda Vision150.

早稲田大は15日、アジアの大学のリーダーになることを目指し、創立150年を迎える2032年までの中長期計画「Waseda Vision 150」を発表した。20年後に学部生を3万5千人と現在より2割減らし、少人数クラスによる対話型や問題解決型の授業を増やす。全学生に留学などの海外での学習経験をさせ、グローバル社会で活躍できる人材を育てる。
 計画は「グローバルリーダーの育成」や「アジアの大学のモデルとなる運営体制の確立」など4つの目標と、教育、研究、財務など13の実現戦略で構成。各項目の20年後の数値目標も示した。
 まず来年6月に新たな入試方法を検討する部署を設け、数年後の実施を目指す。学部ごとの入試以外に、全学規模で優秀な人材を国内外から選抜する仕組みを導入する。
 1年を4学期に分け、秋入学にも対応できる「クオーター制」を導入。外国語で行う授業を全体の50%にし、全学生に留学や国際ボランティアなどを体験させる。外国人留学生は現在の2倍強の1万人に増やし、全学生に占める割合を2割にする。外国人教員も3倍弱の400人に増やす。
 教育の質を高めるため、学部生は現在より約9千人減の3万5千人にする。留年者を減らし、定員の削減や学部の再編も進める。常勤教員は2千人と2割増やし、討論や演習が中心の授業の割合を75%に引き上げる。
 学費収入の減少を補うため、卒業生との連携を深めて毎年の寄付金額を4.5倍の100億円にする。企業などからの研究費収入も2倍強の200億円に引き上げる。目標を掲げて、そこに向かって進んでいくことは重要でしょうね。ぜひ、アジアで1位の大学になって欲しいですね。
