　東京大海中工学国際研究センター長らは１０月２５～２８日、伊豆諸島沖には小さい鉱床が多いことから、海中を泳ぎながらセンサーで地形を調べることができるロボット３台を使って調べた。調査の結果、直径数十メートルほど海底の土が盛り上がり、熱水が噴き出した跡（熱水マウンド）のように見える地形が１キロ四方にいくつも散らばっていた。
　詳しい調査を進めて欲しいですね。そして実際に熱水鉱床が見つかることに期待を持ちたいですね。四方を海に囲まれた日本、海こそが、今後の日本や世界が生き残っていく糧になるかもしれませんね。
