京都大付属病院（京都市左京区）が人工多能性幹細胞（ｉＰＳ細胞）に関係する治験などのための新病棟「ｉＰＳ等臨床試験センター（仮称）」を開設することが２３日、関係者への取材で分かった。平成３１年度の開設を目指す。

　京都大は、ｉＰＳ細胞から作製した神経細胞を患者の脳内に移植してパーキンソン病を治療する臨床研究を６月にも申請。ｉＰＳ細胞によって輸血に使う血小板の製剤を供給する取り組みも予定されている。人工多能性幹細胞（ｉＰＳ細胞）を応用した治験施設が出来上がっていくことを通じて具体的な再生医療の道が確実に拓かれることを期待したいですね。
