Japan's first lunar lander the 2018 fiscal year to launch policy.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is Japan's first lunar lander to 2018 that 18 days was firm policy to launch in fiscal, it was found. At the prospect that space policy committee of the government to officially determined until the summer, the former Soviet Union, the United States, to challenge the soft landing of unmanned lunar spacecraft following the China. And landed with a high degree of accuracy in the target point, we aim to establish a technology that will help in the future of resource exploration.
According to the officials, in the experts meeting of the Sub-Committee and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports of space policy committee, which will be held on the 20th, JAXA is to explain the plan of lunar spacecraft "SLIM" (Slim).
Small rocket "epsilon" in Unit 5 Uchinoura Space Center to launch from (Kagoshima Prefecture). Development costs launch 10 billion to 15 billion yen about prospects, including the cost. Through the acknowledgment of space policy committee MEXT incorporate the related costs to budget request of the next fiscal year budget.
Landing point in each country of the month and planetary spacecraft, there was an error of one to several kilometers with respect to the target. Slim contrast, by applying a facial recognition technology of a digital camera by a method such as to recognize the position of the crater, and reduced the errors up to 100 meters, aiming to acquire accurately landed technique destination.
Moon landing by unmanned spacecraft, 1966 (1966) the former Soviet Union of the year and continued in the United States, China succeeded in 2013. India is also aiming to achieve within a few years. Japan is cited moon orbiter that was launched in 2007 "Kaguya" is a big achievement, lander had been waiting for as the next step.
Japan has landed on the asteroid that there is gravity in spacecraft "Hayabusa" slightly in '17, gravity landing plan to relatively large celestial body with a fraction of the Earth for the first time. Also aim to accumulate technology for future Mars exploration.
Plans to send a rover to the moon in the United States of rocket to private teams second half of next year in Japan, but reaching the moon is dependent on the United States of lander.
I think it can be likely enough landing technically. Also I would be necessary to work out whether what to implement for the purpose clearly. I guess pretty difficult manned lunar landing.
