北佐久郡軽井沢町長倉に２０１４年９月開校予定の全寮制国際高校「インターナショナルスクール・オブ・アジア軽井沢」（ＩＳＡＫ＝アイザック）の設立準備財団は１３日、校舎など施設の完成式と内覧会を開いた。支援者や地元関係者ら約１５０人が出席。「次代に変革を起こすリーダーの育成を目指す」同校へ、期待の声が相次いだ。
　別荘地「あさまテラス」内の２万４千平方メートル余の敷地に、校舎（木造２階建て・延べ９９５平方メートル）、寮（同・延べ１１６６平方メートル）、体育館（鉄骨造平屋・７１４平方メートル）の計３棟を建設した。建設費は５億３千万円。寮は初年度の１学年分で、今後増設する。
　１学年は５０人程度、約７割は海外からの留学生を見込む。１０月に県から学校法人認可を得る見通しで、順調なら１１月初旬に生徒の募集を始め、来年１、２月ころに選考をするという。授業料は年間２５０万円、寮費は同１００万円で、全額または一部の奨学金制度を設ける。
　小林代表理事は「この学校には、日本の教育の国際化や次世代の若者をどう育てるかの期待がかかっている。日本の教育が変わっていくことに貢献したい」と話した。
　来賓あいさつで、ソニー元会長でクオンタムリープ代表取締役の出井伸之さんは「日本が変わるのに一番変わらないといけないのは教育」、元経済同友会代表幹事で日本ＩＢＭ相談役の北城恪太郎さんは「この高校が日本の教育界の改革の礎になると素晴らしい」と同校の取り組みに期待を込めた。どんな実績を残し日本の教育界にいかなる影響を与えていくのか注目ですね。
