研究では、乳がんや膵臓すいぞうがんなど１３種類のがんを対象に、６万５０００人分の血液を解析し、がんとマイクロＲＮＡとの関連を調べる。研究期間は５年。同センター研究所の落谷・分子細胞治療研究分野長によると、乳がんでは特定のマイクロＲＮＡを調べると９割以上の正確さでがんを判定できるという少人数での研究成果も出ており、まずは乳がんの検査法の開発を目指すという。実用化するには、どれくらいの年月が掛かるんでしょうかね。
