イーコミュニケーションは2012年1月25日、SNS「Google+」内に「E-com 英語ネット」公式ページを開設した。またプロモーションの一環として、「無料英語グループレッスン」キャンペーンを実施する。
同社はこれまで、「Skype」による語学レッスンサービスを提供してきた。今後は、新たに Google+を使い、ソーシャル機能とビデオチャットシステム「Hangouts」を活用した語学学習を提供していくという。
また2月1日から29日までの1か月間、毎日21時30分から22時にかけて、E-com 英語ネット内にて、ネイティブ講師との無料英語グループレッスンを実施する。英語レベル不問、料金無料、事前予約も不要。
このレッスンに参加するには、Google+アカウントを取得した後、E-com 英語ネットを自分のサークルに追加する。そのほかに、PC またはスマートフォンとヘッドセット、Web カメラなどが必要。
無料レッスンは、当日ストリームラインに流れる参加可能なハングアウトルームからビデオチャットルームへ入ると受講できる。各回、ネイティブ講師1名を除き、生徒最大9人まで参加可能。授業内容は、各回の参加者を見て決定するとのこと。ぜひ、体験してみてはいかがでしょう。

４年ぶりの「御神渡(おみわた)り」の出現に期待。
長野県諏訪市で最低気温が２日連続の氷点下１１．３度を記録し、今冬一番の冷え込みとなった３０日朝、諏訪湖が全面結氷した。御神渡りは、結氷した湖面の亀裂が盛り上がる現象で、２００８年以降は現れていない。
この日午前７時前、同市豊田の舟渡川河口に、御神渡りを判定する同市の八剣(やつるぎ)神社の宮坂宮司と氏子総代数人が集まった。双眼鏡で湖面を観察した宮坂宮司は「今冬で一番しっかりした全面結氷。氷点下１０度があと３日ほど続いてくれればありがたい」と期待した。
長野地方気象台によると、３１日の諏訪市は雲が広がって放射冷却が弱まり、最低気温は氷点下９度と予想。それ以降、冬型の気圧配置が強まり寒気が入るが、雲が広がりやすいという。
かなりの冷え込みが続いていますから期待できそうですね。

「餃子の王将」で知られる王将フードサービスは、換気扇から吹き出す強烈な風や熱など中華料理店の特徴を生かした「発電店舗」を今年から展開する。
節電効果は未知数だが、電力不足をアイデアで乗り切り、経費削減も狙う一石二鳥の取り組みにしたい考えだ。
油料理用の鍋やギョーザを焼く鉄板など高熱を発する調理具が多いことから、排気用のフードに熱を電気に変えるパネルを張り付ける。換気扇の吹き出し口や敷地内に小型の風力発電機を置くことも検討する。井戸水を使う約１０店には、貯水タンク内に小型発電機を取り付け、タンク上部から落ちる大量の水で発電機に付いた羽根を回す。
いずれも蓄電池に電気をためておき、必要に応じて使うことを想定している。
王将はテコの原理を応用し、客がドアの前の踏み台に乗ると重みでドアが開閉する「節電ドア」を全国４店に設置している。節電ドアの上部にも小型の発電機を取り付けて開閉時に発電する。この電力は、ドアを通った時にメロディーを流すなど話題作りに生かす。
様々なアイデアで節電そして経費の節約をしてお客さんに還元してほしい気もしますね。

日本語離れ(Japanese away)
「日本語の講座を受講したいと相談に来る学生が目に見えて減った。幾つかの講座は閉講寸前」
ここ数年、韓国の外国語スクールや大学などで学生の「日本語離れ」が進んでいる。ソウル市内の大手スクールでは日本語講座の受講生が15－20％減るなど、英語や中国語といったほかの外国語に押されている状況。特に、昨年3月の東日本巨大地震と福島第1原子力発電所の事故が、こうした傾向にさらに拍車を掛けた。
ソウル市鍾路区のパゴダ外国語学院では、2007年から日本語講座の受講生が減少を続けている。同学院の関係者は韓流ブームで多くの日本人が韓国を訪れた03－06年には受講生が増えたが、07年以降は減り続けている。
他の外国語スクールも状況は同じだ。鍾路留学院・日本留学相談センターの課長は「4－5年前までは、日本語講座の受講生が教室を埋め尽くしていたが、今は1クラス3－4人ほどだ。留学相談に来る学生も減り続けており、コンサルティングを続けていくべきかどうか疑問だ」と語った。
日本語能力試験（JLPT）を主管する日本国際交流基金によると、JLPTの受験者は09年には約16万9000人に達したが、10年は13万413人、11年は約11万人（推定）と減少を続けている。
大学の入試や講座を見ても、日本語への関心の低下がうかがえる。第2外国語の履修を卒業の条件にしている高麗大は、日本語科目の受講生が04年の1090人から減少を続け、昨年には580人となった。8年間で半数近くに減ったことになる。高麗大日語日文学科の金教授は「中国が台頭し、日本が停滞している中、日本語への関心が低くなっているようだ」と話している。こんな所にも日本の衰退の状況が見えてきそうですね。

第８４回選抜高校野球大会（３月２１日から１２日間・甲子園球場）の選考委員会は２７日、大阪市内で開き、地球環境高（佐久市）の甲子園出場が決まった。２００５年の野球部創部以来、地球環境の甲子園出場は春夏通じて初めて。通信制高校の甲子園出場は全国初となる。
地球環境は、エース漆戸投手を中心とした堅守と好機での集中打で昨年の秋季大会を勝ち進んだ。９～１０月の県大会で準優勝し、１０月に松本市野球場などで行われた北信越大会に進出。準々決勝で金沢西（石川）に１０―０の五回コールドゲームで快勝すると、準決勝は漆戸投手が松商学園を完封し４―０で勝った。敦賀気比（福井）との決勝は投手戦の末、延長十三回、０―１でサヨナラ負けしたが、投攻守の実力を評価され代表校に選出された。
